1ST STAR: DANIEL MURPHY (ERIE OTTERS):
Daniel Murphy‘s Erie Otters were outshot 51-22, but a 49-save performance kept his team in the game to the very end in a narrow 2-1 loss on home ice. Murphy’s 49 saves are a career high as he kept the Otters in the lead 1-0 until early in the second period when Owen Sound’s Daylon Groulx found the back of the net. Kevin Hancock scored the game winner 6:33 into the third. An 18-year-old native of Guelph, Ont., Murphy is 9-11-1-0 with a 3.66 goals-against average and .880 save percentage this season. He is a former 15th round (301st overall) pick of the Otters in 2016.

2ND STAR: SASHA CHMELEVSKI (OTTAWA 67’s):
San Jose Sharks prospect Sasha Chmelevski recorded his second consecutive four-point game, extending his current point streak to seven games as the Ottawa 67’s defeated the Kingston Frontenacs 6-2 on the road. Chmelevski scored the game winning goal 4:04 into the third period while picking up assists on goals by Noel Hoefenmayer, Tye Felhaber and Hudson Wilson. Chmelevski has 34 points (10-24–34) in 26 games this season, with 19 of those points coming in the past seven games. The 19-year-old product of Northville, Mich. was a sixth round pick of San Jose in 2017.

3RD STAR: KEVIN HANCOCK (OWEN SOUND ATTACK):
Overage forward Kevin Hancock became the OHL’s new scoring leader on Wednesday, picking up an assist before potting the game winner in a 2-1 Owen Sound Attack road win over the Erie Otters. Hancock was also 9-for-14 in the faceoff circle as he has now registered points in 11 of his last 12 games. The 20-year-old Mississauga, Ont. native has 48 points (23-25–48) in 27 games in this, his fourth full OHL season. Hancock attended training camp with the Buffalo Sabres this past September.
