Storm acquire veteran forward Justin DeZoete
The Guelph Storm acquired 19-year-old winger Justin DeZoete from the Mississauga Steelheads on Tuesday, sending a seventh round pick in 2026 back to the Steelheads in exchange.
The 6-foot, 192Ib. DeZoete has recorded one goal through eight games with the Trout this season, and joins a Storm club off to a 6-3 start to the season.
“Justin is a versatile two-way forward that is able to play up and down the lineup and play in all situations,” said Storm GM George Burnett. “He will provide some much needed experience and stability to our young group of forwards.”
Originally Peterborough’s second round (35th overall) pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, DeZoete is in his third OHL season, having recorded 22 goals, 24 assists and 46 points in 140 regular season games between the Petes and Steelheads.
The Storm return to action on Thursday night in North Bay before visiting Sudbury on Friday.
