Storm Acquire forward Justin DeZoete from the Mississauga Steelheads
General Manager George Burnett announced today that the Guelph Storm have acquired forward Justin DeZoete from the Mississauga Steelheads in exchange for a 7th round pick (GUE) in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.
“Justin is a versatile two way forward that is able to play up and down the lineup and play in all situations,” said George Burnett. “He will provide some much needed experience and stability to our young group of forwards.”
The 2004-born left winger from Hamilton, Ontario was originally selected in the second round (35th overall) by the Peterborough Petes in the 2020 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. In parts of three seasons in the OHL, split between the Petes and the Steelheads, the 6-foot, 192 lbs winger has recorded 46 points (22 goals, 24 assists) and 26 PIMs in 140 OHL games played.
Prior to his OHL career, DeZoete was a product of the Hamilton Huskies AAA program and suited up for the GOJHL’s Hamilton Kilty B’s during the 2019-20 season. DeZoete will wear #27 for the Storm.
Catch DeZoete and the rest of the Storm back on home ice for our Halloween Bash and Food Drive for Guelph Food Bank game on Sunday against the Ottawa 67’s. Game time is 2pm. Get your tickets here.
