Sting relieve Micheal Haley of assistant coaching duties
Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced Tuesday morning that the hockey club has relieved Assistant Coach Micheal Haley of his duties with the team.
“After some review of the current progress of the team, we feel obligated to make a change in effort to support the growth and development of our players and program,” said Seca. “Micheal has been a mentor to many young men over the years, we appreciate his professionalism and dedication to the team, and wish he and his family all the best.”
A Sting alumnus who played with the club from 2002-06, Haley had been on the Sting coaching staff since 2021-22 shortly following his retirement from the National Hockey League.
Having dropped their last seven contests, the Sting (8-17-2-4) return to action at home against the Flint Firebirds (11-15-1-1) on Wednesday night.
