Preseason Report: September 13th
Niagara IceDogs vs. Brampton Steelheads
Final: 4 (BRAM) – 3 (NIAG)
- The Steelheads held off a late IceDogs push to wrap up their preseason with a win
- Niagara struck first as Callum Cheynowski (1) opened the scoring just minutes into the game
- Brampton answered with four straight goals from Kieran Witkowski (2), Justin Bottineau (2), Troy Patton (1) and David Green (3)
- The IceDogs fought back with markers from Cole Cooksey (2) and Ivan Galiyanov (2) to pull within one, but couldn’t complete the comeback
- Zach Bowen stood tall for the Steelheads with 28 saves.
Niagara closes the preseason at 2–2, while Brampton finishes 4–1. The two clubs will meet again soon during the regular season on Friday, September 19th.
Owen Sound Attack vs. North Bay Battalion
Final: 7 (OS) – 5 (NB)
- In a high-scoring affair, the Attack came out on top to close their preseason schedule
- Five goals were tallied in the opening frame, setting the tone for a wild afternoon
- Jacob Therrien led Owen Sound offensively with two goals, while Pierce Mbuyi, Braedyn Rogers, and Masen Wray each chipped in with two assists. Cole Zurawski added a goal and an assist
- For North Bay, Parker Vaughan (2G, 1A) and Cam Warren (1G, 2A) each recorded three-point nights
- Zack Irvin backstopped the Attack with 34 saves in the win
Owen Sound finishes the preseason at 3–2, while North Bay settles at 3–3.
Kitchener Rangers vs. Windsor Spitfires
Final: 4 (WSR) – 2 (KIT)
- The Spitfires closed out their preseason with a win over the Rangers
- Beksultan Makysh led Windsor with a three-point night (2G, 1A)
- Nathan Gaitens added two assists for Kitchener
- Carter Froggett and Michael Newlove shared goaltending duties in the victory
Windsor finishes the preseason at 2–1, while Kitchener ends at 3–2.
