Owen Allard commits to Greyhounds
Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Rafits has confirmed 2020 seventh round selection OWEN ALLARD has signed a standard player agreement and education package with the club.
“Owen is an explosive skater that is very athletically gifted. Since we selected Owen a year ago, he just keeps improving and diligently working on his game,” began Raftis.
The GM added, “He’s a skilled player that is effective with and without the puck on his stick. We’re excited to partner with Owen and continue to help him to refine his skillset.”
Allard was selected in the seventh round (124th overall) of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. Last season, the Ottawa, ON product played eight games between two separate clubs in France. With the Caen U17 club, Allard scored seven times and added three assists in just four games played. The 6.01, 181-lb forward also recorded four goals and one assist in four games played with Caen U20 club.
In 2019-20, Owen appeared in 39 games for the Kanata Lasers U18 AAA where he compiled 12 goals and 15 assists in 39 regular season games.
