Bulldogs’ Jake O’Brien named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week
Seattle Kraken prospect Jake O’Brien of the Brantford Bulldogs is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week for the second time this season, leading the League with nine points, including four goals and five assists over three games. Read more
Greyhounds’ Carter George named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week
LA Kings prospect Carter George of the Soo Greyhounds is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 2-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average, .957 save percentage, one shutout and one goal scored. Read more
IceDogs’ Ryerson Edgar named OHL Rookie of the Week
Niagara IceDogs forward Ryerson Edgar is the OHL Rookie of the Week, scoring four goals in three games. Edgar recorded his second hat-trick of the season on Saturday in Owen Sound, fuelling a 5-0 IceDogs win over the Attack. Read more
Sting prospect Myles Dunn named GOHL Prospect of the Week
Sarnia Sting prospect Myles Dunn of the St. Thomas Stars is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, scoring five goals and adding two assists for seven points in a pair of contests. Dunn recorded an assist in his OHL debut on Tuesday night in Kitchener. Read more
Brooks Rogowski’s unlikely path from Michigan High School Hockey to the OHL
Around eighteen months ago, Brooks Rogowski was a high school hockey player in Michigan with his sights set on a baseball scholarship. Today, he’s a 6-foot-6 power forward for the Oshawa Generals, a Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold medalist, and a highly touted draftee for the upcoming 2026 NHL Draft. Read more
OHL Cup Top 10 Rankings – Week 9: Mississauga Senators climb to season-high fourth spot
The Week 9 edition of OHL Cup Top 10 Rankings features the Mississauga Senators up three spots to a season-high of number four this week following wins over the Jr. Canadiens and Reps Hockey Club. The Vaughan Kings make their return to the Top-10 after missing the cut the past two weeks. The HEO’s Ottawa Jr. 67’s are also on the radar as an honourable mention following their recent success. Playoff clinching scenarios right around the corner: When the calendar flips to February on Sunday, a couple of teams in the Brantford Bulldogs and Ottawa 67’s could be looking at playoff clinching scenarios. Here we are again, OHL fans!
Costanzo enters week with 98 career wins: Windsor Spitfires goaltender Joey Costanzo is two wins shy of the OHL’s 100-club. The overage goaltender from Toronto is 23-6-3-0 on the season, and would become the seventh goaltender since 1980 to accomplish the feat, joining JP Anderson (126), Kyle Gajewski (114), Joseph Raaymakers (109), Devin Williams (106), Adam Dennis (100) and Jacob Oster (100). The Spits host North Bay on Thursday, visit Kitchener on Friday and host Sarnia on Sunday night.
Matt Martin to be inducted into Sting Hall of Fame on Feb. 27th
The Sarnia Sting will induct graduate and long-time NHL forward Matt Martin into the Sting Hall of Fame ahead of puck drop on Friday, February 27 when they play host to the Barrie Colts. After going undrafted in his early junior years, Martin earned his opportunity with the Sarnia Sting by attending the club’s 2006 training camp as a walk-on. He went on to play three seasons with the Sting from 2006–2009, earning the role of team captain in his final season, where he emerged as a leader both on and off the ice. Read more
Colts welcome alumnus Daniel Erlich as Player Development Coach: The Barrie Colts have hired Daniel Erlich to play an important role in Player Development. Erlich, who played for the London Knights and Barrie Colts from 2007-12, went on to play two seasons at Western University before playing professionally in France. Read more
Jesse Wilmot to work final OHL contest on Sunday: Long-time referee Jesse Wilmot will work his final OHL assignment on Sunday when the Brantford Bulldogs play host to the Soo Greyhounds at 2:00pm. Now in his 17th season, Wilmot has worked 10 of those years as a referee after originally starting out as a linesman. The Hamilton product has past experience working both the Memorial Cup as well as the Olympic Winter Games.

Attack sign Jared Langdon: The Owen Sound Attack have signed former fourth round 2022 OHL Priority Selection choice Jared Langdon to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 19-year-old was chosen back in 2022 and comes over from the BCHL’s Blackfalds Bulldogs. Read more

Spitfires host Goaltender Appreciation Night, CMHA Talk Today Night on Thursday: The Spitfires will be saluting all of the goaltenders out there on Thursday when they play host to the North Bay Battalion. It’s also CMHA Talk Today Night at the WFCU Centre as the Spitfires prioritize mental health awareness.
Storm host Indspire Night on Friday, suit up in Indigenous Jerseys: The Guelph Storm and Miijidaa Café + Bistro are proud to partner with Indspire for the second time! Indspire is a national Indigenous charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people. The Guelph Storm will once again take the ice in commemorative jerseys designed by Eugene Morrisseau, a Canadian artist and son of the late Norval Morrisseau of the Indian Group of Seven. Read more
Kids Takeover on Saturday in Brampton: It’s Kids Takeover Day with the Brampton Steelheads on Saturday when they play host to the Oshawa Generals at 4:00pm. Be on the lookout for young talent in the building, setting the scene for a big Eastern Conference matchup!
Otters host Knights on Star Wars Night: Saturday is Star Wars Night at Erie Insurance Arena, and the Otters will no-doubt lean into the theme when they welcome the defending Memorial Cup champions.
Attack support Tyson Downs Association on Saturday: Tyson Downs was a seemingly healthy athlete whose life was taken during the best years of his life. At just 18 years old in the early hours of July 23rd, 2023, Tyson lost his life due to a sudden cardiac event. The Tyson Downs Association provides a free CPR and AED awareness training program to adolescent and youth sports programs throughout Grey and Bruce Counties. Through the funds raised with this charity game, TDBeAT is committed to placing outdoor accessible AEDs in high traffic public areas throughout Grey Bruce. Read more

Former Attack forward Josh Samanski makes NHL debut with Oilers: Former Owen Sound Attack forward Josh Samanski made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers on Monday at the age of 23. The 6-foot-2 forward was a plus-2 in 7:43 of ice as the Oilers defeated the Anaheim Ducks 7-4. Samanski, from Erding, Germany, played in Owen Sound during the 2019-20 season and has since played between Germany and the AHL. He’s registered 28 points (7-21–28) over 39 games with the Bakersfield Condors so far this season.
Vilmanis scores first NHL goal: North Bay Battalion graduate Sandis Vilmanis scored his first NHL goal with the Florida Panthers on Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to the Utah Mammoth. The 22-year-old from Riga, Latvia scored in his ninth NHL contest, having spent much of the season with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers. Vilmanis played two seasons in the OHL between Sarnia and North Bay. He had a tremendous showing in the 2024 OHL Playoffs, recording 27 points (10-17–27) over 16 games for the Battalion.
DiPietro pacing AHL netminders: Former Memorial Cup champion Michael DiPietro is leading American Hockey League goaltenders so far in 2025-26. The former Windsor Spitfires and Ottawa 67’s puckstopper is 17-5 with a 1.76 goals-against average and .938 save percentage over 23 games with the Providence Bruins. The 26-year-old from Amherstburg, ON is in his seventh pro season. His 19 career shutouts remain an OHL record.
Beyond the Rink – Rob Zepp: Rob Zepp’s hockey journey has taken him from the OHL crease to the forefront of international hockey. A standout with the Plymouth Whalers, Zepp went on to play professionally in the NHL and across Europe before shifting into a leadership role, helping shape hockey’s global future. Today, as Senior Director of International Strategy & Growth at the NHLPA, he oversees the association’s international department, guiding long‑term strategy and expansion across emerging and established markets worldwide.
