OHL Power Rankings: Oct. 13, 2025
Who’s up:
Soo Greyhounds – up three spots to #4 this week
The Hounds earned a thrilling 5-4 overtime win over the Kitchener Rangers at home on Friday, with Quinn McKenzie completing the comeback 2:35 into the extra frame. The Greyhounds had trailed Kitchener 4-1 late in the second period before striking for four unanswered goals in the win. They were no match for the top-ranked Windsor Spitfires in a 4-1 loss on Saturday.
Ottawa 67’s – up two spots to #6 this week
People are starting to wonder if the 67’s really are for real. Road wins over Barrie and Brampton have certainly garnered some attention as the Barberpoles keep climbing the list. The 67’s fell short in Brantford to close out their road trip on Sunday afternoon, suffering their first loss of the season in an 8-5 final.
London Knights – up two spots to #9 this week
The Knights overwhelmed the Erie Otters in a 6-1 triumph on Friday as Los Angeles Kings prospect Henry Brzustewicz scored twice from the back end. Ben Wilmott brought his best to a rare Saturday night home game, recording two goals and two assists as the Knights beat the Sarnia Sting 5-4 on an OT winner from Cohen Bidgood. Wilmott ended the night with two goals and an assist. London has now won four in a row.
Oshawa Generals – up one spot to #12 this week
The Generals split a weekend on the road, defeating the Sarnia Sting 3-1 on Friday before falling 3-0 in Flint on Saturday night. Friday’s win featured a first star performance from goaltender Jaden Cholette, who stopped 37-of-38 shots.
Brampton Steelheads – up two spots to #13 this week
The Trout have been an early season surprise, coming out of the weekend with a record of 4-3. The Steelheads were a casualty of the Ottawa 67’s on Friday night but came back strong to defeat the Barrie Colts 5-3 on the road on Saturday. Newcomer Josh Avery continues to produce in blue and white, with six points (3-3–6) through his first three games with the Trout. Seattle Kraken prospect Jakub Fibigr has been a boost on the blueline with seven points (3-4–7) over five games. Rookie defenceman Zach Nyman made his OHL debut on Friday, and recorded a goal and two assists in the win on Saturday.
Flint Firebirds – up one spot to #16 this week
It was smooth sailing for the Firebirds, who had back-to-back shutouts from goaltender Mason Vaccari in wins over capable opponents in Kitchener and Oshawa. The power play is a work in progress and the offence comes and goes, but if the Firebirds can keep holding opponents to limited production, good things will be in store.
Who’s down:
Kitchener Rangers – down two spots to #5 this week
The Rangers had a flat start to the week, losing 3-0 in Flint on Wednesday before letting a 4-1 lead evaporate on Friday in Sault Ste. Marie, dropping a 5-4 decision in overtime. The Rangers redeemed the trip on Saturday in Saginaw as sophomore defenceman Alexander Bilecki had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over the Spirit.
Kingston Frontenacs – down two spots to #7 this week
The Fronts (and Niagara IceDogs) drop a couple spots this week moreso by virtue of just how good the Ottawa 67’s have been in the opening month of the campaign, demanding a spot higher up the list following a 6-1 start. The Frontenacs didn’t have their best effort on Thursday in Peterborough, losing a 5-2 matchup against the Petes. They rebounded in a big way at home on Friday as Jacob Battaglia (3-1–4) and Tyler Hopkins (2-2–4) each had four points in a lopsided 9-1 win over Peterborough. The Fronts prepare for a Friday night showdown at home against Ottawa.
Niagara IceDogs – down two spots to #8 this week
The Dogs fell 7-4 at the hands of the high-powered Brantford Bulldogs at home on Thursday before finding a way past the Sudbury Wolves, defeating them 4-3 on Sunday afternoon. NHL Draft prospect Braidy Wassilyn made his season debut in Sunday’s win. Captain Kevin He leads the IceDogs with 13 points (4-9–13) over seven games.
Barrie Colts – down two spots to #11 this week
The Colts dropped a pair of home games, losing 2-1 to Ottawa on Thursday before falling 5-3 to the Brampton Steelheads on Saturday. The Colts try and rebound on the road in Owen Sound on Wednesday night before a rivalry week home-and-home with the North Bay Battalion.
Guelph Storm – down two spots to #14 this week
The Storm fell 3-2 in overtime on Thursday night in Windsor before coming out on the wrong end of a 5-2 score at home against the North Bay Battalion. The Storm are 3-3-2-0 through their first eight games and visit the rival Kitchener Rangers on Tuesday.
Saginaw Spirit – down one spot to #15 this week
Just one game for the Spirit over the weekend and it was a loss, a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Kitchener Rangers. The Spirit are in Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday before the I-75 Divide Cup heats up with a home-and-home against Flint on Saturday and Sunday.
Sarnia Sting – down one spot and off the list this week
The Sting dropped a 3-1 decision at home against Oshawa on Friday before picking up a point in Saturday’s 5-4 overtime loss in London. Patrick Quinlan was back in the Sting crease on Saturday after missing a week’s action due to injury.
