Ottawa tied the game with 2:27 left in regulation before Kingston settled its home opener 2:10 into overtime.

• Alex Misiak scored on an odd-man rush 2:10 into overtime to win it for the Frontenacs
• Brody Cook and Nolan Snyder scored Kingston’s other goals
• Rookie Royden Smith stopped 26 of 28 to improve to 2-0 in the crease
• Andrew Laurin scored his first OHL goal to force overtime, while Theo Avila netted the first of his OHL career for Ottawa

Oshawa cashed in twice on the power play and rolled to a seven-goal home opener over North Bay.

• Jaden Cholette made 29 saves as Oshawa went 2-for-9 on the power play to North Bay’s 1-for-6
• Kam Hodgson scored his first career OHL goal for the Battalion as the Generals improved to 2-0
