Greyhounds sign former second round pick Callum Croskery
SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis continued the Program’s signings today with a major announcement for the Red and White.
Earlier today the Hounds confirmed that 2024 2nd Round Pick CALLUM CROSKERY signed his OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Hounds.
“It’s exciting to officially welcome Callum as a member of the Soo Greyhounds. He’s a smooth-skating defenceman who truly excels in transition, showing the ability to exit the defensive zone with poise by evading pressure, using space, and applying his vision to manage the puck and drive the pace of play,” began Raftis.
“We believe he will be a great fit and complement to our existing group. We are excited to support his development, both on and off the ice when he joins our team this August,” he concluded.
Croskery, a native of Oakville, ON was originally selected out of the Oakville Rangers U16 AAA Program (40th overall) where in 2023-24 he had 12 goals and 40 assists (52 points) in 29 regular season games before adding 14 points (1G, 13A) in eight post-season contests.
That year he amassed the most points by a defenceman in the OMHA, was crowned an OHL Cup Champion and named to the OHL Cup All-Star Team.
This past season (2024-25) the 6.00, 186 lb defender played in 54 games with the Chicago Steel (USHL) where he had one goal and nine assists (10 points) in 54 regular season games.
Internationally, Callum represented Team Canada White at the 2024 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where won a gold medal, recording two points in five games.
“I’m really excited to get started with such a historic organization. I’m pumped to play in the best hockey town in Ontario with such great fans. Can’t wait to get started,” stated Callum, who is eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft.
