Four OHL players included on TSN’s Preseason Rankings for the 2026 NHL Draft
TSN unveiled its Preseason Rankings for the 2026 NHL Draft earlier today, with four OHL players landing on the 16-man list. NHL Draft & Prospect Analyst Chris Peters conducted the survey, drawing insights from 10 NHL scouts.
Leading the way is Niagara IceDogs winger Ryan Roobroeck (#4), followed closely by Windsor Spitfires forward Ethan Belchetz (#5). Rising defenceman Chase Reid (#10) of the Soo Greyhounds is not too far behind, while Peterborough Petes import forward Adam Novotny (#12) rounds out the OHL representation.
OHL Players on TSN’s Preseason Rankings for the 2025 NHL Draft:
4. Ryan Roobroeck (Niagara IceDogs) – LW
The former second-overall pick is coming off a breakout sophomore season with the IceDogs, where he racked up 87 points (41-46–87) in 64 games. He also captured gold with Team Canada at the U18 Worlds. Standing at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Roobroeck narrowly missed last year’s draft cutoff by just 10 days, making him one of the oldest players in this year’s class.
5. Ethan Belchetz (Windsor Spitfires) – LW
At 6-foot-5, 227 pounds, Belchetz brings an imposing frame and scoring touch. The former first-overall pick impressed internationally, representing Canada at both the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, capturing medals at both. He notched 38 points (17-21–38) and 48 penalty minutes in 56 games as a 16-year-old rookie with Windsor last season.
10. Chase Reid (Soo Greyhounds) – RD
Reid landed a spot on the OHL First All-Rookie Team after joining the OHL from the NAHL following the Christmas Break. He wasted little time establishing himself as a reliable two-way defender who could log heavy minutes in all situations. Reid averaged better than a point per game with 40 points (7-33–40) in 39 games last year and is committed to Michigan State University for the 2027-28 NCAA season.
12. Adam Novotny (Peterborough Petes) – LW
Selected eighth overall in the 2024 CHL Import Draft, Novotny officially joined the Petes this summer after spending last season in Czechia’s top pro league. Internationally, he represented Czechia at both the U18 Worlds and World Juniors, leading his country in scoring at the U18s.
