Who We’re Looking For:
We’re hiring two Digital Content Coordinators for the 2025-26 season. The weekly OHL schedule will be split between the two successful applicants, who will work as a team to ensure full coverage. The schedule is flexible and rotates weekly – no one is expected to work every Friday or Saturday night.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands social media, thrives on live events, and knows how to tell stories quickly and clearly. Most work happens during game times in the evenings and on weekends, including holidays, with late-night turnarounds often part of the job.
We’re looking for someone who can help build hype before puck drop, capture big moments in real time, and keep the conversation going, scheduling content for the next morning, especially on busy weekends.
Past members of this team have gone on to full-time roles in digital content and marketing with OHL teams and other major sports organizations.
Key Objectives:
- Real-time coverage: Share what’s happening on game nights through video, graphics, and social copy
- Fan engagement: Create content that connects with a wide audience and keeps fans coming back
- Player promotion: Highlight the athletes of the OHL and the road to the NHL and beyond
- Content planning: Schedule and post morning-after content to continue the story
- Brand support: Support league-wide coverage and storytelling across major events
Responsibilities:
- Create and post content on X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and the Web
- Cut and post highlight clips using graphic templates for organic and sponsored content
- Upload and manage highlights on OntarioHockeyLeague.com and the OHL YouTube channel
- Write short-form recaps and summaries for OntarioHockeyLeague.com
- Monitor OHL Live streams and report any technical or quality issues
- Support video requests from Hockey Operations (discipline and player safety)
- Help cover league events such as the OHL Priority Selection, Top Prospects Game, and OHL Cup
- Schedule and publish content that extends into the morning after big nights
- Review performance metrics and adjust content approaches where needed
What You Should Bring:
- A degree or active studies in sport media, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
- Experience running social accounts or producing digital content, ideally in sports
- Strong writing skills and a feel for social copy that grabs attention
- Comfort working across TikTok, X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
- Video editing skills (Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
- Graphic editing experience (Photoshop or similar)
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and some late nights
- Understanding of digital trends, hockey culture, and how content spreads
- Ability to work independently and meet quick deadlines
