Colts’ Scott signs with Blue Jackets
COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed center Justin Scott to a three-year entry level contract, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Scott, 20, registered 28 goals and 37 assists for 65 points with 60 penalty minutes, a +32 plus/minus rating and 17 multi-point games in 67 outings with the Ontario Hockey League’s Barrie Colts during the 2015-16 regular season. Serving as an alternate captain, he set career highs in assists, points, penalty minutes and plus/minus, while leading the club in games played, finishing fourth on the club in goals and plus/minus (tied) and fifth in assists and points.
The Burlington, Ontario native has added 14-2-16 with four penalty minutes and a +16 plus/minus rating in 11 games during the 2016 OHL playoffs. He currently leads the OHL in postseason goals and is third-T in plus/minus and is ninth in points.

Scott has notched 69-78-147 with 152 penalty minutes and a +65 plus/minus rating in 251 career OHL games over four seasons with Barrie. He set career highs in goals and games played with 30-23-53, 39 penalty minutes and was +26 in 68 games with the Colts in 2014-15. He has added 17-9-26 with 18 penalty minutes and is +20 in 38 career OHL playoff contests. He was originally selected by Barrie with its fourth selection, 80th overall, in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection draft.
