Colts’ Bignell commits to Guelph for 2021-22
The Guelph Gryphons men’s hockey program announced via Twitter (@gryphonsmhky) on Wednesday that Barrie Colts captain Luke Bignell has made a commitment for the 2021-22 season.
An overage forward from Kitchener, Ont., Bignell put up 14 goals, 23 assists and 37 points in 54 games for the Colts in his third OHL season. The 6-foot-1, 178Ib. Bignell has collected 68 points (30-38–68) over 178 career regular season games with the Colts since being a fifth round (85th overall) pick by the club in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
Bignell joins the reigning OUA Queen’s Cup champions led by former OHL head coach Shawn Camp, joining Mississauga Steelheads defender Duncan Penman in their 2021-22 recruiting class.
