Rangers meet WHL champion Everett Silvertips in Memorial Cup Final
The Kitchener Rangers are one win away from Canadian Hockey League glory. On Sunday, May 31st, the OHL Champions will square off against the Western Hockey League’s Everett Silvertips in the Championship Final of the 2026 Memorial Cup presented by Kubota in Kelowna, BC.
The puck drops at 7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT and you can watch the game on TSN and NHL Network.
Here is a look at how the two teams stack up ahead of the ultimate showdown in Kelowna.
The Stakes
Kitchener is chasing its third Memorial Cup title in franchise history, having previously hoisted the prestigious trophy in 1982 and 2003. This mark’s the Rangers’ seventh appearance in the Memorial Cup Final, a new CHL record. They also competed on this stage in 2008, 1990, 1984 and 1981. Meanwhile, the Everett Silvertips are making their first-ever Memorial Cup tournament appearance and are seeking their first title.
The Round-Robin Rematch
These two titans have already clashed at Prospera Place. On May 25th, the Rangers handed the Silvertips their only loss of the tournament with a decisive 6-2 victory. Kitchener captain Cameron Reid paved the way with a goal and two assists, while Jack Pridham netted a pair of goals.
Paths to the Final
The Rangers enter Sunday’s contest with a perfect 3-0 record, having enjoyed a well-deserved rest since their last game on Tuesday. Kitchener earned their ticket to Kelowna by completing a four-game sweep of the Barrie Colts to secure the J. Ross Robertson Cup, finishing the OHL postseason with a dominant 16-2 record.
Everett, sitting at 3-1 for the tournament, comes in with momentum after dismantling the QMJHL champion Chicoutimi Sagueneens 6-1 in Friday’s semi-final action. Like Kitchener, the Silvertips steamrolled their way to a league title, capturing their franchise’s first Ed Chynoweth Cup with a 16-2 postseason run.
