Bulldogs Assistant Andrew Campbell joins AHL’s Belleville Senators
The Belleville Senators announced Monday the hiring of Brantford Bulldogs Assistant Coach Andrew Campbell as an assistant with the AHL club.
Campbell, who has served in an assistant coaching capacity with the Bulldogs since 2021, helped steer the club to an OHL Championship in his first season on the bench alongside Jay McKee. The 36-year-old Caledonia, Ont. product joins another OHL alumnus in former Niagara IceDogs forward Stefan Legein as an assistant in Belleville alongside former OHL coach and graduate Dave Bell.
Formerly a big left-shot defenceman during his playing days, Campbell played in 42 NHL contests between 2013-16, along with 719 career AHL regular season games between 2008 and his retirement in 2019. He was a third round pick of the LA Kings in the 2008 NHL Draft following a three year OHL career with the Soo Greyhounds from 2005-08, notably becoming solid blueliner after being a 15th round OHL Priority Selection choice in 2004.
