Bulldogs’ Andreas Karlsson joins Oilers as Player Development Coach
The Edmonton Oilers announced Wednesday that they’ve hired Brantford Bulldogs Assistant Coach Andreas Karlsson as a Player Development Coach.
A former NHL forward with the Atlanta Thrashers and Tampa Bay Lightning, Karlsson has spent the past six seasons in the OHL between the Bulldogs and the Kitchener Rangers. He hoisted the J. Ross Robertson Cup as an OHL champion with Hamilton in 2022.
Karlsson did a great deal of work with Brantford’s special teams alongside Head Coach Jay McKee. The 49-year-old from Ludvika, Sweden returns to the NHL for the first time since 2008 following a 12-year coaching journey.
The Bulldogs announced they’d hired Vince Laise as an Assistant Coach on Tuesday. Brantford’s other Assistant Coach from the past several years Andrew Campbell recently took an Assistant Coaching position with the AHL’s Belleville Senators.
