Attack hire OHL alumnus Reagan O’Grady as second Assistant Coach
The Owen Sound Attack has added Reagan O’Grady as their second Assistant Coach for the 2024-25 hockey season.
The Lindsay, Ont. native began his hockey career in 2013-14 playing for the Toronto Marlboros U16 AAA team as a defenceman, skating 29 games with five goals and 19 assists. He would then move on into the OHL signing with the Kingston Frontenacs (2014-15) , traded to the Sudbury Wolves the same season. O’Grady would remain with the Wolves from 2015 to the beginning of the 2017-18 season, having a total of 44 points. Sudbury would trade O’Grady to Mississauga Steelheads (now known as the Brampton Steelheads) for the remainder of the 2017-18 season, then moving once more to Saginaw Spirit in the 2018-19 season.
On top of his on ice experience, Reagan worked as an Assistant Coach for the Lindsay Muskies for a number of years (2019-24) as well as the Director of Player Development in the 2023-24 season.
“I feel humbled and honoured to be hired by the Owen Sound Attack organization.” O’Grady stated. “A big thanks to Dale (DeGray) and Scott (Wray) for having their trust in me to allow me to kick start my OHL coaching Career with the Attack organization.
O’Grady goes on to say that he is thankful for the time he had in the OHL to now enter from a coaching perspective.
“I’m super thankful for this opportunity to share what I’ve learned in the league as a player ad pass on my experiences to our team this year. I can’t wait to get down to Owen Sound and meet the staff, players and the great fans at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Arena.”
Attack Head Coach, Scott Wray says after speaking to O’Grady, he ‘could tell he’s a passionate coach who’s really excited to be a part of the Attack organization’.
“Reagan has a very good understanding of the OHL after playing both in the Eastern and Western Conference, I look forward to having him on our staff and working with him.”
