67’s, Wolves to face QMJHL opponents in 2025-26
The Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) will issue its complete 2025-26 regular season schedule on Wednesday, with some intriguing matchups involving the Ottawa 67’s and Sudbury Wolves in the rollout.
Returning to their schedule for the first time since 2022-23, the 67’s will face off with cross-river QMJHL opponent the Gatineau Olympiques, a team they’ve faced in notable venues such as an outdoor game held at TD Place Stadium back in December 2017. The Barber Poles will host Gatineau on Friday, January 16th before making a trip across the river the next day on Saturday, January 17th.
The Sudbury Wolves return to interleague play for the first time since 2000, squaring off against the QMJHL’s Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, the team they faced 25 years ago. The Wolves host the Huskies on Sunday, January 14 before making the trip to Rouyn-Noranda on Sunday, January 25.
“These kinds of matchups bring out the competitiveness on both sides of the ice, as we just saw at the Memorial Cup” said OHL Commissioner Bryan Crawford. “We’re excited to embark on a small pilot of interleague games as we explore expanded opportunities for interleague play in the future.”
The OHL will announce its complete 2025-26 regular season schedule on Monday, June 16.
