4 OHL players named to U.S. National Junior Team preliminary roster
USA Hockey unveiled its 28-man preliminary roster for the 2020 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship on Monday, one that includes four OHL players.
London Knights teammates Jonathan Gruden and Alec Regula, Hamilton Bulldogs forward Arthur Kaliyev and Peterborough Petes forward Nick Robertson will audition for a spot on the final 23-man roster that will represent the U.S. in Ostrava and Trinec, Czech Republic from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.
The roster includes four returning players from last year’s U.S. squad that returned home from Vancouver, BC with a silver medal. Scott Sandelin returns as head coach in 2020 while OHL graduate John Vanbiesbrouck serves as general manager of the team.
The Americans will hold their World Junior Camp from December 16-17 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.
