2026 IIHF World Junior Championship – Pre-Tournament Day 7 (Dec. 23, 2025)
Here is a recap of the last day of pre-tournament action, featuring wins from Canada, Sweden, and the U.S.
Final: 13 (CAN) – 2 (DEN)
After suffering a loss to Sweden on Saturday, Canada responded in emphatic fashion, erupting for 13 goals on 50 shots in its final pre-tournament matchup against Denmark.
Holding just a one-goal lead after the opening period, the Canadians broke the game open in the second with four goals before adding seven more in the third.
Nine different players found the back of the net, including three from the OHL: Jett Luchanko (Brantford Bulldogs), Cole Beaudoin (Barrie Colts), and Brady Martin (Soo Greyhounds). Gavin McKenna led the way with a five-point performance (2G, 3A), while former OHLers Zayne Parekh (1G, 3A) and Porter Martone (2G, 2A) each finished with four points.
William Bundgaard and Mads Klyvo accounted for Denmark’s scoring.
In goal, Carter George (Owen Sound Attack) started the game, stopping two of three shots before Josh Ravensbergen took over for the remainder of the contest.
The two teams will meet again in the round-robin on December 29, with Denmark looking to avoid relegation after earning promotion last year.

The United States scored in each period to secure a 3-1 victory over Finland. OHLers Chase Reid (Soo Greyhounds) and A.J. Spellacy (Windsor Spitfires) dressed for the Americans, while Henry Brzustewicz appeared in two pre-tournament games before being returned to the London Knights.
For Finland, Emil Hemming (Barrie Colts) and Jasper Kuhta (Ottawa 67’s) were in the lineup, with Hemming skating on the top line.
