Wolves Make NHL List
The NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings were released Tuesday and three Wolves players have made the list including: Dmitry Sokolov, Alan Lyszczarczyk and Troy Timpano. All three players are rated to be selected in the first four rounds of the NHL Draft in June of 2016. The latest Red Line Report has Sokolov rated in the top two rounds of the NHL draft.
Sokolov and Lysczarczyk are first-year players on the Wolves while Troy Timpano is currently playing in his third OHL campaign. Sokolov leads the Wolves in goals with 15 while Lysczarczyk is tied for the team lead in points with 32. Timpano has recorded the most number of wins for the Wolves this season despite missing two months with injury.
Two other young Wolves players have been garnering a lot of attention lately from NHL team scouts include forwards: Michael Pezzetta and Ryan Valentini. Pezzetta, 17, was the Wolves’ 1st round selection in 2014 and has recently been rated in the top five rounds of the NHL Entry Draft by Red Line Report. Valentini, 18, was recently acquired by the Wolves from the London Knights organization and has caught the attention of more than one NHL team of late with his skilled offensive play.
The Sudbury Wolves, the CHL’s #1 supplier of Players to the NHL* (over the past 25 years), look forward to seeing more players being selected by NHL teams to accompany recently-drafted NHL Prospects: Kyle Capobianco (Arizona Coyotes) and Matt Schmalz (LA Kings).
