Wolves Fall in Nations Capital
The Sudbury Wolves opened up their 3 – in – 3 weekend Friday night with a stop in the Nation’s Capital to face the Ottawa 67’s. The 67’s scored early and often in this contest, defeating the Wolves by a final score of 8-2.
The 67’s got off to a strong start in the first, making it 1-0 less than 2 minutes into the frame. They then scored three more in the opening frame to take a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes.
They notched two more in the second to extend their lead to 6-0 after 40 minutes. The 6th goal of the game came within the final second of the period, and went under review before being ruled a goal.
The Wolves will finally able to capitalize on some of their chances in the third. The Wolves and 67’s exchanged two goals each for a final score of 8-2. ALAN LYSZCZARCZYK and DMITRY SOKOLOV each notched one for the Wolfpack. Final shots on goal were 37-15 in favour of the 67’s.
Jeremiah Addison added 2 goals and an assist for the 67’s in the match, en-route to being named the game’s first star. Troy Timpano made 29 saves in net for the Wolves, while Leo Lazarev made 13 to pick up the win.
