Wolves and Perkins Teaming Up
When the Sudbury Wolves hit the ice this Friday night against the Saginaw
Spirit, they’ll be playing for more than two points: they’ll be playing for
kids at the Hôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital.
The Wolves are teaming up with Perkins Restaurant & Bakery to raise funds
for the Children’s Treatment Centre and Pediatrics’ Unit at the hospital,
through “Helping Children” night. Part of the proceeds from the night will
go towards children’s programs at the hospital, and to help purchase
everything from infant warmers to therapeutic toys.
“Every year our players and Howler visit and play with kids at the
Children’s Treatment Centre and Pediatrics Unit,” says Wolves President
and General Manager Blaine Smith. “We know how important it is for those
kids to have the best medical equipment available to help them in their
recovery. But it’s also important for them to have games and therapeutic
toys too. That improves their health and makes their stay in hospital a
little more pleasant.”
“We’re honoured to be part of this special night,” says Todd Connors,
manager of Perkins Restaurant and Bakery. “The money we raise will help
buy equipment that could save a life, or put a big smile on a kid’s face.
We’re thrilled to help out in any way we can.”
The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. for this Friday’s home game against Saginaw
Spirit. The Sudbury Wolves, Perkins Restaurant and Bakery, and the Hôpital
régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital are encouraging everyone to come out
and enjoy a great night of hockey, and help raise money for this worthy
cause.
