Valentini Rules!
The Sudbury Wolves wish to congratulate rookie forward Ryan Valentini who scored his first OHL goal and then scored in the shoot-out to lead the Sudbury Wolves to a 4-3 victory over the Niagara IceDogs in St. Catharines last night.
Valentini, 18, scored the second goal of the game on a hard accurate wrist shot from the circle and then iced the victory with a skilled move in the shoot-out as the fourth shooter for the Wolves.
Valentini was acquired by Wolves’ GM Barclay Branch for a 2nd round draft selection (four years from now in 2019). Valentini is proving that he has been able to take the skills that he showed in Jr. B and raise his game to the OHL level.
Valentini was undrafted in the OHL draft primarily because of his smaller stature, however, the Toronto native has now sprouted-up to 6’1, 180 lbs and has become one of the top free agents in the OHL. There has been lots of interest and inquiries from NHL scouts who want to see what the youngster can do at the OHL level…..and he hasn’t disappointed them.
The Sudbury Wolves are very pleased to have Ryan Valentini join their club and be a part of the Wolves’ rejuvenation over the next three years!
