Corrado Impresses
Sudbury Wolves defenceman FRANK CORRADO played in his first NHL pre-season
game and despite his Vancouver Canucks being on the losing end of a 5-1
decision against the veteran-laden Calgary Flames, the 18-year-old Vaughn
native played over 20 minutes (second highest minutes of all players) and
was ‘even’ in the plus-minus department. Veteran Alex Tanguay led the
Flames with two points in the win. CORRADO was selected in the 5th round
of the 2011 NHL draft and Canuck management are impressed with his
mobility, speed and puck-moving skills for a first-year NHL prospect.
Wolves’ overage candidate JOSH MCFADDEN is attending the Montreal
Canadiens main camp but didnt dress in their 6-3 loss to the Dallas Stars
Tuesday night. Wolves’ 18 year old forward JOSH LEIVO is doing well at
the Leafs main camp and also did not dress in the Philadelphia Flyers 4-0
victory over the Leafs last night. MICHAEL SGARBOSSA has advanced to the
San Jose Sharks main camp and is expected to see some pre-season action
this weekend.
