Wolves Fall to Colts
The Sudbury Wolves traveled to Barrie Thursday evening to visit their divisional rivals, the Barrie Colts. The Wolves fell behind 5-1 after the opening frame and couldn’t recover, falling by a final score of 8-2.
The Colts got on the board early in the first period on a goal by Christopher Cameron less than 2 minutes into the game. Ryan Valentini tied things up just over a minute later with Chandler Yakimowicz and Aiden Jamieson picking up the assists. The Colts then added 4 more unanswered goals before the opening period came to a close. Shots on goal after the first were 17-15 in favour of the Colts.
Sokolov scored early in the second to make it 5-2, but that was as close as the Wolves came as Barrie continued to apply pressure, adding two more goals in the second and another in the third. Final shots on goal were 45-35 in favour of the Colts.
The Wolves will look to rebound tonight as they host the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:00pm at the Sudbury Arena.
