Wolves Aquire Zacharie Giroux
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves announce that they have acquired Sudbury native, Zacharie Giroux from Flint Firebirds in exchange for a pair of third round picks in 2026.
“We are thrilled to bring Zach Giroux home,” said Sudbury Wolves VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. “He is a leader and a competitor that is a hometown boy with a lot of experience and plays the game with skill and grit and pace every shift.”
Zacharie was selected by Flint in the 3rd round (57th overall) in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection from the Sudbury Wolves Minor Midget AAA team where he scored 28 goals and added 27 assists for 55 points through 23 games. During his time with the Firebirds Zach played 168 games tallying a total of 141 points (51G-90A), a +19 and 112 penalty minutes. This season Zach was also named the Firebirds captain.
