Whalers double Storm

Friday night at the Sleeman Centre, the Storm stumbled out of the gate falling behind 3-0 before the game was five minutes old and never recovered on their way to an 8-4 loss versus the Plymouth Whalers. 

The game featured a bit of everything with a pair of failed penalty shots, a controversial video review and plenty of hits and scoring.  Down 5-1 after twenty minutes, Guelph climbed within two at 6-4 entering the third period before a pair of late goals iced the victory for Plymouth.

Tanner Richard led the Storm offence with a goal and two assists while Hunter Garlent scored for the second time in the past four games.  Also connecting for the hosts were Scott Kosmachuk and Cody McNaughton, each with their ninth of the year.

Seven different Whalers found the back of the net with only first star Alex Aleardi scoring twice.  Aleardi also added an assist, whie Stefan Noesen tallied four points including three helpers.

The Storm will have little time to lick their wounds as they welcome the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday night to the Sleeman Centre for a 7:30 start.
