Storm powerplay does in Rangers
GUELPH — The Guelph Storm struck for three power-play goals as they beat the Kitchener Rangers 3-2 before 4,674 at the Sleeman Centre on Saturay night.
The Rangers’ two-game Ontario Hockey League winning streak was snapped.
“The disappointing part for me was we had three veteran players take poor penalties,” Rangers coach and general manager Steve Spott said. “You had Ben Shutron take a four-minute minor. You had Myles Barbieri take a four-minute minor and you had Mike Mascioli take three minors and you’re not going to beat a good hockey club when you have your veteran guys in the box for extended periods for time. I think we shot ourselves in the foot.”
