Storm holiday events
With December fast approaching, the Guelph Storm as always has a number of special events planned for the holiday season. Three games to circle on your calendar include Saturday, November 28th, Sunday, December 6th and Friday, December 11th.
Saturday, November 28th – Guelph Storm vs. Kitchener Rangers… “The Guelph Mercury Books For Kids Night”.
The Guelph Mercury and the Guelph Storm are asking fans attending Saturday night’s game to bring happiness into the home of an underprivileged child in our community. Donate new, unwrapped books that are suitable for children ages newborn to 18 years at all arena entrances.
Over the past five seasons, Guelph Storm fans have generously donated over 5,000 books.

Sunday, December 6th – Guelph Storm vs. Kitchener Rangers… “Two new banners to be raised at the Sleeman Centre”.
As part of the OMHA 75th Anniversary celebration, the OMHA launched a search for the All-Time OMHA Great Team. Guelph’s own Ray Scapinello and Bill McCreary (both pictured above) were both voted to the team and will participate in a banner ceremony before the Guelph Storm game versus Kitchener Rangers on Sunday, December 6th at 2 pm. Guelph Minor Hockey Association and the OMHA will be partnering with the Storm for the ceremony.

Each recipient’s hometown association received a donation of hockey equipment from the NHLPA Goals and Dreams Fund for children in need and a special congratulations letter from the NHL.
Friday, December 11th – Guelph Storm vs. Owen Sound Attack… “Teddy Bear Toss Night”.
Over the past nine seasons, Storm fans have donated in excess of 30,000 new, or ‘slightly loved’ stuffed toys that have been donated to charities in Guelph and around the world. As always, the Storm invites their fans to celebrate their first goal of the game on December 11th by throwing a stuffed toy onto the ice surface.
Fans that are interested in donating a stuffed toy, but unable to attend the game can drop off their stuffed toy to Brent Johnson at Wellington Motors, or at the Guelph Storm offices in Old Quebec Street Mall.
