Player of the Week
The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Zack Mitchell is the Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February27th.
Mitchell recorded six points, three goals and three assists in four games this past week. Held off the score sheet in a 6-1 home loss at the sold out Sleeman Centre on the Family Day Holiday, the Caledon native bounced back on Friday with a goal and two assists in the victory over Owen Sound. On Saturday in Sarnia, the 19 year old scored the first goal of the night in the 5-4 heartbreaking defeat versus the Sting. At home on Sunday afternoon against the Rangers, Mitchell was named third star for scoring a goal and an assist in a 6-3 win over the rival Rangers,
With six points on the weekend, Mitchell currently has 66 points in 57 games and leads all Storm players in points, goals (31) and assists (35). In his last five games, Mitchell has nine points, four goals and five assists.
Next up, the Storm heads to Erie on Wednesday night to face off against the Otters followed by a pair of home games this weekend. Friday night they battle it out against the Kingston Frontenacs before facing the Ottawa 67’s at 2pm on Sunday.
