Katzin and Jovanovski lead Storm passed Kingston in a Shootout
Lev Katzin scored two first period goals and Zach Jovanovski made some amazing saves as the Storm beat Kingston 4-3 in a shootout.
Backup goalie, Brayden Gillespie, had the best seat in the arena to watch his team rebound after a loss to the Saginaw Spirit the previous night. ” It was great to see the team pull together after a tough loss. Katzin and Jovanovski really stepped up for us.” Gillespie said.
Gillespie, whose favourite childhood teddy bear was Winnie the Pooh, had the honour of helping his fellow teammates pick up over 5000 teddy bears on Guelph’s annual teddy bear toss night.
How does it feel to get 2-points today?
“Oh it feels awesome! Jovanovski had a great game, so it was awesome to see him get the win. We needed the two points so we’re excited.”
Did you have favourite teddy bear growing up?
“Yeah, I had a little Winnie the Poof stuffy growing up when I was younger. So that was probably my favourite.”
What player did you look up to growing up?
“Definitely Carey Price.”
The Storm’s next home game is Friday December 20th against the Soo Greyhounds. Puck drop is 7:07.
