Liam Stevens commits to Storm
The Guelph Storm Hockey Club announced today that 2015 second round pick Liam Stevens has agreed to terms on a Standard Player Agreement with the team.
The Waterdown native had 29 goals and 51 points in 34 games played at the minor midget level with the Hamilton Junior Bulldogs. At 5’09 and 180 pounds, Stevens is described as ” one of the hardest hitters in the 2015 Priority Selection. A very powerful skater with a quick stride, he has a very strong shot that can beat goalies from the top of circles.”
The 16 year old most recently played in the OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener for OMHA White recording four points in five games (1G, 3A).
“Liam is a player that wears his heart on his sleeve, each and every game,” GM Mike Kelly described. “He plays inspired and has the ability to inspire teammates and fans alike. Pound for pound, Liam is one of the most dynamic and competitive players to come out of the recent OHL Priority Selection. We are very pleased to have signed Liam to a Standardized Player Agreement, and we would like to welcome Liam and his family to our Storm family”.
Stevens met with Storm management and staff at the annual rookie day last weekend and will join the rest of the Storm when training camp opens at the Sleeman Centre in August.
