Harpur works hard on defence

Ben Harpur got his humbling experience early in the Ontario Hockey League.
The night after recording his first three OHL points in a win over the Erie Otters back in September, the big Niagara-on-the-Lake native was a healthy scratch against the Owen Sound Attack.
Such is the life of a rookie blueliner.
“It’s a bit frustrating. But as a 16-year-old you take your lumps now and hope it works out for you later,” Harpur said Thursday where of the Storm were busy Thursday preparing for their second-straight three-in-three weekend.
All three games, which include home games with Plymouth Friday and Sudbury Saturday, are against teams with records above .500.
“You just have to stay positive, even if you’re not playing. When you get down on yourself, that’s when you start to lose it,” Harpur said.
Between being brought along slowly and a minor knee injury, Harpur has played in just four of the Storm’s 16 games thus far, picking up four points.
