Guelph Storm Annual Awards Banquet
The Guelph Storm closed the books on another season on Sunday afternoon with the annual Awards Banquet at the Italian Canadian Club of Guelph.
Hosted by the voice of the Storm and CJOY’s own Larry Mellott, the team presented the annual awards during the event.
It was a busy afternoon for Matthew Poitras as he took home three awards including the Top Scorer Award, the Owen’s Corning Tony Camilleri Playmaker Award, and the Paul Fendley Memorial Scholastic Player of the Year Award. The Brooklin native had a solid second season with the Storm recording 16 goals and 79 assists for 95 points. With his 79 assists, Matthew surpassed Storm alumni for the third-highest assist total in one season in Storm history.
