With their second selection in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection (30th overall), Storm General Manager Mike Kelly chose defenceman Kyle Locke from the York Simcoe Express.

OHL Central Scouting… Kyle Locke Player Profile – Kyle is a very intimidating stay at home defenceman.  He is a powerful skater and because of his explosiveness he is able to close gaps very quickly and take time and space away from his opponent which makes him very hard to beat and play against.  Kyle is at his best when he moves the puck quickly and just plays solid defence by taking the body which he does extremely well.  He is the type of defenceman that most coaches love to have on their team because you can play him against the other teams top line and he will do everything he can to shut that line down.
