Going into game 5 of the first round of the 2014 playoffs, the Storm had defeated the Plymouth Whalers in all but one game. March 28th, 2014, the Storm would either extend the series or knock the Whalers out of the playoffs. The Storm went on to defeat the Plymouth Whalers in a convincing 8-3 win.
