Storm acquire defenceman Cedricson Okitundu from Attack
General Manager George Burnett announced today that the Guelph Storm have acquired defenceman Cedricson Okitundu from the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for Hamilton’s 5th round pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Draft.
The 2004-born blueliner from Waterloo, was originally selected in the fourth round (76th overall) by the Owen Sound Attack in the 2020 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. The 6’0 foot, 200lbs left-shot defenceman recorded five assists and 36 PIMs in 43 games for the Attack during the 2021-22 OHL season. The 18 year old is a product of the Waterloo Wolves AAA program.
Okitundu will join the rest of the Storm at the Sleeman Centre for the 2022-23 home opener tomorrow night when we host the Hamilton Bulldogs. Puck drop is 7:30pm.
Don’t miss our street fest taking place tomorrow from noon until puck drop on MacDonnell Street where there will be live entertainment and activities for all ages. Some Storm players will be present to sign autographs at the Storm tent in the afternoon. Time is still to be determined.
Activities include Game Asylum, Top Shot Hockey, and the Guelph Fire Department. Infinite Body Art will be present for face painting while Anishnabeg Outreach will be present as our recognize the importance of Truth and Reconciliation Day. I, The Mountain will be the live entertainment performing on stage from 4:45pm-5:30pm and 6:00pm-6:45pm.
