Mitchell recalled by the Wild
Former Guelph Storm forward Zack Mitchell was recalled by the NHL’s Minnesota Wild on Wednesday. Set to make his debut tonight with the Wild, Mitchell will become the 51st Storm alumnus to play in the NHL.
Mitchell, 23, has appeared in 157 games with the Iowa Wild registering 78 points (40 goals, 38 assists) in that time. During the 2015-16 season, Mitchell appeared in 70 games with Iowa registering 42 points (22 goals, 20 assists) leading the team in scoring.
In five seasons with Guelph, the Caledon native played 322 regular season games collecting 243 points (102 goals, 141 assists), he also appeared in 42 playoff games with the Storm where he recorded 45 points (18 goals, 27 assists). Mitchell is the Storm’s all-time leader in games played, and is 10th in career points, he was also a key piece in helping the Storm win the J. Ross Robertson Cup during the 2013-14 season.
