Matt FInn goes to Toronto Maple Leafs in 2nd
Rated to be picked in the middle of the first round, Storm blueliner and 2011-12 MVP Matt Finn slid to the beginning of the second round, but he’ll stay close to home as he was seelcted 35th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Finn, who just finished his second season in Guelph, was the team’s first round pick in 2010. The Toronto native, had 48 points for the Storm in 2011-12.
The second day of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in Pittsburgh could be a busy one for the Storm with seven other players ranked among NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings. The list includes Scott Kosmachuk, Tanner Richard, Brock McGinn, Justin Auger, Zack Mitchell, Patrick Watling and Zach Leslie.
