About the Steelheads
The Brampton Steelheads are the Ontario Hockey League franchise within the Peel Region. We provide a development program for upcoming hockey players to play at an elite level. Within the community, we strive to provide value by using our athletes as role models. We’re present at community events to demonstrate our commitment to supporting the Peel Region.
The Volunteer Role
The Brampton Steelheads are looking for volunteers to assist in the Game Day operations staff in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of a Brampton Steelheads hockey game. Through various opportunities, your dedication and support will contribute to creating a memorable experience for both Steelheads fans and Steelheads players! Basic uniforms including a Brampton Steelheads jacket are provided to On-Ice Volunteers for the game and must be returned at the end of the game. Game Day Volunteers are not provided with any uniform and can wear casual/business casual clothing.
There are two positions available:
Game Day Volunteer
- Assisting the game day operations team with various tasks
- Representing the Steelheads in a positive way
- Speaking with fans regarding ticket prices and other inquiries
- Maintaining the Steelheads brand by providing Steelheads nation with great customer service
On-Ice Volunteer
- Ability to skate
- Must bring your own skates
- Shovel the boards & goalie crease on the ice at the first whistle after the 10 minute mark of each period.
- Assist in execution and clean up of various intermission events (chuck a puck, shoot-to-center, etc)
An ideal candidate has:
- A passion for sports and events
- A strong work ethic
- A positive attitude
- An ability to conduct themselves in a respectful manner
- An ability to work well with others
- Ability to skate (on-ice volunteer)
- Access to your own skates (on-ice volunteer)
This is an opportunity to fulfill required hours in a fun and engaging role, while gaining experience in customer service and event management.
