Steelheads Hit the Greens for 6th Annual Golf Classic

On Monday May 28, 2018, the Mississauga Steelheads swam West of the border to Glencairn Golf Club in Milton, ON. Players, fans, sponsors and staff gathered for the 6^th Annual Steelheads Golf Classic.

In total, 158 golfers registered for the event alongside current, former and future Steelheads personnel. In attendance as celebrities of each golf group was 1^st Round Draft Pick of the New Jersey Devils, Michael McLeod; 1^st Round Draft Pick of the Florida Panthers, Owen Tippett; 2^nd Round Draft Pick of the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Nic Hague and last but not least Steelheads Alumni playing for the Laval Rocket, Stefan LeBlanc.

Steelheads forward Ryan McLeod and goaltender Jacob Ingham could not be in attendance due to the NHL Combine that weekend in preparation for the NHL Draft on June 22^nd in Dallas, TX.

Also attending their first event as part of the Mississauga Steelheads, was 1^st Round Draft Pick in 2018 OHL Priority Selection, James Hardie; Steelheads 2^nd Round Draft Pick, William Portokalis and Steelheads ^4th Round Draft Pick, Joe Ranger. James Hardie commented on the event, “it was an honour to join the team for my very first Steelheads Golf Classic. I had an amazing time meeting my teammates, seeing my coaches again and more importantly meeting the golfers that came out to support us. It was a beautiful day to golf at such a prestigious golf club like Glencairn.”

Every golfer played for a chance to win prizes from the Steelheads and sponsors along with a silent auction that followed. Thank you to everyone for their contribution to make this event another success and congratulations to the following winners:
