STEELHEADS COMPLETE TRADE WITH STING
The Brampton Steelheads announced they have traded Jack Van Volsen to the Sarnia Sting for David Green, and two picks.
BRAMPTON, ON – Wednesday afternoon the Brampton Steelheads announced a trade with the Sarnia Sting, sending centreman Jack Van Volsen in exchange for defenceman David Green, a conditional 5th round pick in 2026 (SAR), and a conditional 3rd round pick in 2027 (OTT).
The Steelheads acquired Van Volsen in a package trade that sent Owen Beck to the Peterborough Petes in 2023. Peterborough drafted Van Volsen in the first-round (#6 overall) in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. He put up 85 points (41G,44A) through 128 games with the Steelheads.
Coming back the other way is David Green who was Sarnia’s fifth-round pick (#88th overall) in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. The Toronto, ON native registered 14 points (4G,10A) in 62 games this past season with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL. Green committed to Merrimack College Division 1 of the NCAA. The 6-2, 182-pound defenceman is brothers with Steelheads 2025 first-round pick Peter Green.
