STEELHEADS ANNOUNCE LEADERSHIP GROUP FOR THE 2025-26 SEASON
The Brampton Steelheads name Mason Zebeski as Captain and Parker Von Richter, Jakub Fibigr and Gabriel Chiarot as Alternate Captains.
BRAMPTON, ON – The Brampton Steelheads are proud to announce the leadership group for the 2025-26 Ontario Hockey League season. Forward Mason Zebeski has been named team Captain, while Parker Von Richter, Jakub Fibigr and Gabriel Chiarot will serve as Assistant Captains.
Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond quoted on the latest appointments. “The Leadership group for the Steelheads of 2025-26 will consist of Mason Zebeski, Parker Von Richter, Jakub Fibigr and Gabe Chiarot. Mason will wear the ‘C’ while Parker, Jakub and Gabe will wear the ‘A’. This is a wonderful group of human beings. They lead by example, they care about their teammates and they are open to what the coaching staff is asking of them. We look forward to a great year of Steelheads hockey led by these four special people!”
Selected in the eleventh round (208th overall) of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection by the Steelheads organization, captain Mason Zebeski enters his fourth year in the OHL making a significant impact both on the ice and in the community. Over his 181 games for the Blue and White the 6-foot-2, 197 pound forward has recorded 80 points (46G, 47A). Most recently, he attended the Ottawa Senators Development Camp.
Joining Mason Zebeski in the leadership group for the 2025-26 season are Alternate Captains Parker Von Richter, Jakub Fibigr and Gabriel Chiarot. Von Richter, a Mississauga, Ontario native, was drafted by the Steelheads in the third round (51st overall) and enters his fourth season with the hockey club. The 19-year-old defenseman was invited to the Edmonton Oilers Development Camp this September.
Jakub Fibigr, an import draft pick from Unicov, Czechia, was drafted by the Seattle Kraken in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round (202nd overall). In the 2023-24 season, Fibigr, led all rookie defenseman in points with 43 (7 goals, 36 assists). On the international stage, he has represented Czechia on five separate occasions and been named as part of their leadership group.
Gabriel Chiarot, a right-shot winger from Hamilton, Ontario, was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft and recently signed a three-year entry-level contract. The 19-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Steelheads, posting 21 goals and 35 points in 66 games in 2024–25.
