Brampton Steelheads draft Czechia forward Martin Vaculik in the CHL Import Draft
Vaculik becomes fourth player from Czechia to be drafted by Steelheads franchise
BRAMPTON, ON – On Wednesday July 3rd, with their first round selection (39th overall) of the 2024 CHL Import Draft, the Brampton Steelheads selected Martin Vaculik.
Vaculik, a forward from Zlin, Czechia, played for Berani Zlin (CZE) U20 registering 48 points (19G,29A) in 54 games. He has represented Czechia internationally on multiple occasions including at the U17 and U18 level. Across all international play representing Czechia this past season, Vaculik recorded 4 points (2G,2A) in 21 games.
The draft selection marks the fourth time in Steelheads franchise history that a player from Czechia (2017 – Albert Michnac, 2023 – Tomas Galvas and Jakub Fibigr).
