Spirit announce scholarship opportunities for local youth hockey players
Saginaw, Mich. – The Saginaw Spirit Charitable Foundation announced Friday afternoon a scholarship fund for youth hockey players ages 18 and under that play in Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland hockey associations. Money for the scholarship was generated by the “Guardians of the Ice” player posters and stick auction last winter.
Up to six scholarships will be awarded by the Saginaw Spirit Charitable Foundation for the 2023-2024 season, two per association. Scholarships will be between $150 and $500 per recipient.

The application opens today and will close on September 15th and recipients will be notified in October. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at Saginaw’s November 8th home game against the Flint Firebirds.
The Spirit return to the ice in September for a historic 2023-2024 season. Single game tickets to all 34 Spirit home games go on sale August 14th. For more information, visit saginawspirit.com, or follow the team on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
