Spirit battle 67’s on NHL Network Friday night
Ottawa, Ont. – The Saginaw Spirit (26-12-0-1) travel to the TD Place Arena to take on the Ottawa 67s (20-16-3-0) on Friday, January 19th.

The Spirit defeated the Guelph Storm at the Dow Event Center on Saturday, January 13th. Zayne Parekh scored two goals, and Owen Beck then opened the second period scoring an unassisted short handed goal. Rodwin Dionicio and Hunter Haight scored two more power play goals for the Spirit, giving them a 5-2 victory over the Storm. Nolan Lalonde stopped 17 of 19 shots for his ninth consecutive victory.
The Ottawa 67’s lost 4-2 to the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday, January 14th at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Brady Stonehouse and Samuel Mayer were the only two goal scorers for Ottawa while Matthew Andonovski, Antonino Pugliese, and Filip Mešár each scored goals for Kitchener. Colin Mackenzie started in the crease for Ottawa, saving 19 of 22 shots on goal. Tristan Malboeuf started in net for Kitchener, stopping 31 of 33.
Last Season:
This is the first time the Saginaw Spirit and the Ottawa 67s have faced each other this season, and the Spirit dropped both contests to Ottawa last season. Most recently, a pair of Joey Willis goals helped the Spirit secure a point during a 4-3 shootout loss on March 4th. Hunter Haight added a pair of assists that night from TD Place.

Luca Pinelli leads the 67s in points (44) and goals (29). Henry Mews leads in assists (28) with 11 coming on the power play. Braeden Kressler is second on the team in points (41), goals (17), and assists (24). Max Donoso leads Ottawa in all major goaltending categories including a 3.45 GAA, .891 SV%, and 10 wins.
