Walter DiClemente – Security, Risk Management & Billet Liaison
Walter has been involved with the Peterborough Petes as a billet to 13 Petes players since 1983. For the past 17 years, he has taken on the roles of team Security and Risk Management and Billet Coordinator. Walter is a retired Police Sergeant with over 34 years of policing experience as a patrol officer, criminal investigator, major case manager, media liaison officer, training officer, professional standards/internal audits investigator, community services officer, Crime Stoppers coordinator, recruiter and background investigator with the Peterborough Lakefield Police Service and the Toronto Police Service. As part of his duties with the Petes, Walter has implemented a proactive risk management program that has been looked upon as a model program throughout the league. He had extensive involvement with security during the 1996 Memorial Cup and the 2004 OHL All-Star game in Peterborough. He and wife Krista have two sons who are actively involved in the local sports community, playing hockey, lacrosse and baseball. Walter is currently the President of the Peterborough Minor Petes “AAA” Zone Hockey Council and works part time as a Police Foundations instructor at Trillium College, Peterborough campus.
