Ron Tugnutt (1984-1987)
A member of the Petes for three seasons, Ron was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques 81st overall in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft and spent five years in the Quebec organization, evenly splitting time between the Nordiques AHL affiliate. The Nordiques traded Tugnutt to the Edmonton Oilers, where he spent two seasons before being claimed by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the 1993 NHL Expansion Draft. He was traded to the Montreal Canadiens after only one half season and served as the team’s backup goalie for two seasons before moving on to Ottawa and finding success as a starter. He spent 4 full seasons in Ottawa. After stops in Pittsburgh, Columbus and Dallas he retired in 2004. After retirement, he served as the Petes assistant coach during the 2010-2011 season.
